These images represent a large, continuing body of work focusing on celebrity figures and cultural icons. Making use of reference materials including existing AP photos and internet images, these figures are created in a new, isolated environment where I am able to transpose their particular identities with my own. Collectively, these pieces can be viewed as a sort of single self-portrait.

Employing the use of a cut paper "grid" and layers of mixed media, the work consistently aims to reveal the complexity of the subjects' elevated status juxtaposed with the fragility of their humaness.
